Pathways Park
Owner: Seattle Parks and Recreation
Client: Site Workshop
The Pathways Park Project aims to bring people of all ages and abilities together for health, wellness, play and community in a nature-based setting. Surrounded by affordable housing, a developmental preschool, the Ronald McDonald House and Seattle Children’s Hospital, this location provides a key opportunity to support environmental equity. This 1.75 acre site is located adjacent to wetlands and localized creeks in the headwaters of Piped Yesler Creek. Great care was taken to mimic natural drainage patterns while supporting accessible surfaces and meeting stormwater code. The site includes two bioretention facilities that provide onsite stormwater management, water quality and flow control prior to outletting to adjacent wetlands.
Mayfly provided full site civil engineering support. Construction was completed in 2024.
