Mayfly provided planning, design, document production and construction documentation for Master Planning and Phase One design and construction. With a low impact design (LID) approach, Mayfly integrated creative use and practical engineering concerns into the initial planning stages for Cordata Park. This 27-acre park site consists of wooded land, wetlands and streams. Phase 1 included a multi modal path system with travel through multiple wetlands and stream crossings and called for full stormwater flow dispersion and infiltration to allow for park development while maintaining the existing hydrology crucial to wetland and stream health. Future phases include adjacent right of way development, play areas and an amphitheater with a green for concerts and gatherings. Planning is complete and phase 1 design construction was completed in 2010.
