South Woods Green Street and Pedestrian Improvements
Owner: The City of Shoreline
Client: The Berger Partnership
This project includes both pedestrian pathways and an adjacent rain garden bioretention system that blur the edges between the public right of way and the adjacent park site – providing stormwater treatment and enhanced travel ways for both sites. Buffered by bioretention gardens the new pedestrian pathway meanders between beautiful existing trees as well as recent plantings. Working closely with the landscape architect and city planners to preserve existing trees and to meet stormwater treatment goals- pervious pathways and a linear rain garden with bioretention were designed and constructed. Construction was completed in May 2009. Mayfly was responsible for the early options analysis, engineering design, document production and construction administration.
